“Selling machinery is our business. Giving back to the community is our responsibility, and our pleasure!”

Over time, Knox Machinery has become a key player in the manufacturing industry, selling and supporting the machinery so vital to the metal cutting sector and its diverse markets. At the same time, the company has made its mark within the community it calls home. Here too, there is a form of manufacturing — in the form of education, inspiration, and the growth of future generations — and Knox is an enthusiastic and prolific supplier to that industry as well.

A personal passion of Greg Knox is youth sports — as his office wall clearly demonstrates. He has coached many teams and the company sponsors a number of others.

Knox is especially committed to the future manufacturing in this region. They have sponsored several area high school BattleBot teams, wherein students design, build, and program their own radio-controlled ‘Bots, and are subsequently exposed to the real world materials, equipment, processes, and technologies that they would encounter in a manufacturing career. Furthering their commitment to exposing young people to the challenges and rewards of a manufacturing career, Knox regularly participates in and supports TechFest at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, and can be heard yelling “Are you ready to rumble?” at many of the BattleBot competitions!

Mr. Knox has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Dayton Tooling and Manufacturing Association (DTMA) for four years, serving on numerous committees for more than a decade, including Member Services, AMTS Show, and Workforce Development. He also MC’s numerous DTMA events, such as, our highly rated training classes.

Cell Phones for Soldiers is another beneficiary of Knox generosity. The company is a collection facility for used wireless phones. The phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone – enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad.

Many Knox employees are also active within the industry and the community at large, like Adam Gehret, Knox Sales, who is a committee chairman for the Dayton chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
